Jelado Westcoast Shirt 'Special Print' Harlequin

Jelado Westcoast Shirt 'Special Print' Harlequin

The Westcoast shirt is a staple item from Jelado's Starry Gate collection, produced every season with varying fabrics and design.

The Westcoast shirt features detailing most commonly found in vintage leisure shirts from the 1950's. The Westcoast features an open collar, boxy silhouette with a square hem, as well as open pockets and all the characteristics of 50's casual shirt styling.

This 'Special Print' for SS23 has been reproduced from a vintage shirt in the brand's archive. The rayon twill used for the shirt is woven in Senshu, Osaka and then taken to a factory in Kyoto where the fabric is dyed and then taken to a specialist printing factory where they use a method called pigment discharge printing. The factories that carry this technique out in Japan are decreasing making this quite a rare fabric and totally unique!
